UPLL's goal is to provide all players an opportunity to learn the game in a safe environment, develop skills, and most importantly HAVE FUN. Division age groups are established by Little League and the UPLL Board of Director's policies. We are committed to ensuring player development at the appropriate level and maintaining overall player safety, and a competitive balance among teams in each division.
HOW IS LEAGUE AGE CALCULATED?
A player's league age is determined by Little League International. League age is calculated automatically during registration based on a players date of birth.
Current year age charts can be found at the following link: Determine League Age
HOW ARE THE TEAMS FORMED?
Team managers that have registered on the website are selected by the President and approved by the Board of Directors. Managers must understand that umpiring is a part of coaching and a minimum of 1 game per month umpiring. A manager can request a coach, district umpire or friend to cover umpiring.
Our registration numbers vary each season by available divisions and age groups. Teams are assembled by approved managers, league player agents, and the Board of Director's policies. Selection to divisions is based on team counts, the player evaluation, and draft. We are committed to ensuring player safety, and a competitive balance among teams in each division.
Players are drafted by managers in the Senior, Junior, Major, and Minor baseball divisions.
Minor, Major, Junior, and Senior divisions will fill their rosters with: 1- Returning players from the previous Spring season; 2- Players selected from the pool of draft eligible players.
Players are assigned to teams by the League Player Agent(s) in the Instructional and Tee Ball divisions.
The league will attempt to honor requests for coaches and/or friends at the Instructional and Tee Ball levels, however they cannot be guaranteed. Fielding teams in all divisions cannot be guaranteed. The Board of Directors will determine final divisions and team counts based on number of registrations received, manager volunteers and available facilities/fields.
ABOUT LITTLE LEAGUE
Little League is not a "pay to play" organization. Fees cover uniforms, equipment (i.e.: balls, chalk), field/light fees, tournament fees, insurance, and Little League fees.
Little League is a totally volunteer organization. Background checks need to be done on all volunteers prior to being involved with players. Volunteers make UPLL successful. Please find time to dedicate to the players and understand that volunteers also have families and jobs.
SCHOLARSHIP OFFERS
Yes, we are able to offer partial and full scholarships each season. To inquire about obtaining a scholarship, please email us and a league volunteer will contact you. T-mobile also offers scholarships.
