Local and District Rules
Union Park Little League is a chartered Little League program in District 24 (Central Florida).
Our games are governed by Little League’s Official Playing Rules and Regulations. Where permitted, we also use local
playing rules and District 24 ground rules to support safe, consistent, and well-run games.
If a local or district rule conflicts with Little League rules, the official Little League rules control.
Rule Hierarchy
To avoid confusion, we follow this order of precedence:
- Little League Official Playing Rules and Regulations
- Little League Operating Policies (including approved draft methods and operational requirements)
- District 24 Ground Rules (when published for interleague or district play)
- Union Park Little League Local Playing Rules (division-specific, Board-approved, season-specific)
Key point: Local playing rules are meant to clarify items like time limits, run rules, pace of play, and field-specific items.
They cannot override Little League rules.
District 24 Ground Rules
District 24 ground rules apply primarily to games played across the district, including interleague play and upper division formats.
When the district publishes ground rules for the season, Union Park Little League will post them here.
Recommendation: Once you have the district PDF, replace the button above with the official District 24 document link and remove the reference links.
Union Park Little League Local Playing Rules
Local playing rules are division-specific and are adopted each season. These rules support consistent gameplay across teams,
help with pace of play, and clarify division adjustments that are allowed within Little League guidelines.
Baseball Local Rules
Post division-specific rules here as separate PDFs or pages if needed.
Softball Local Rules
Post division-specific rules here as separate PDFs or pages if needed.
Season note: Local playing rules are reviewed annually and may change from season to season.
Tournament Rules and Guidelines
Tournament play is governed by Little League Tournament Rules and Guidelines, including any written ground rules established for a specific event.
Tournament documentation and event-specific rules will be posted on the All-Stars and Tournaments page when applicable.
